Myrna Keplinger has spent over 30 years in the title industry. She is the manager of The Settlement Group. Since January 2000 with Myrna’s guidance, TSG has grown from one small office with two employees to 5 offices with 22 employees. Myrna’s commitment to being the best in the business has earned her the respect of her peers, clients and employees. She works hard to stay on top of all industry issues, and to make sure that her employees always have the most recent and industry compliant training. She expects the closings at TSG to be "warm and fuzzy." Myrna and Jeremy co-wrote the TSG Real Estate Guide.
Myrna is a Past President of the Virginia Land Title Association (VLTA) as well as an active member of VLTA’s PAC committee. She is also a member of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors, Prince William Association of Realtors, and American Land Title Association.
Susie Peters Jones
Susie Peters brought thirty years of settlement and title experience to The Settlement Group when she became the Branch Manager of the Leesburg Pike office in 2015. Over the years, she has been able to diversify her expertise, working with residential sales, refinances, commercial transactions as well as local builders on acquisitions and construction and outsales. Susie feels that every transaction is unique and she enjoys every settlement, from an agricultural commercial closing to a first time homebuyer!
Katie McGowan started in the real estate title insurance business in 1977, but she stayed in it because of the people. She became a licensed Virginia Title Insurance Agent in 1981 and has owned and operated her own settlement company. Katie began working with TSG in 2008 as the Branch Manager of the Burke Office. She works with a wonderful group of professionals to successfully help buyers, sellers and refinancers make their real estate dreams come true. She enjoys combining her experience, education, problem solving ability, along with her desire to help people to make her settlements great.
Jeremy Brown joined the TSG family in 2003, working as a processor through what was perhaps the busiest 3-year span the Northern Virginia real estate market has ever seen. He then began conducting closings in 2005 and was made a Branch Manager in 2006. He currently manages our office in Franconia. Over the last 14 years, Jeremy has proven himself through booming and distressed markets alike; picking up a wealth of knowledge along the way. Many Realtors and loan officers love Jeremy for his honest and witty style of imparting that knowledge on the consumer. As he would put it, "I have two goals when I walk into a closing. #1) I want you to feel comfortable signing each document I put in front of you. #2) I want to make you laugh at least once." Patient, kind, and always entertaining. That’s our Jeremy.
Crystal Jalali has been in the title industry for 20 years. She was the 3rd employee hired at TSG in 2000 and is the Branch Manager of the McLean Office. In addition to conducting closings, Crystal is a major contributor to TSG's marketing and training events; and is a speaker for several CE classes presented to local real estate agents. Her knowledge of real estate title issues and ability to find creative solutions to the most difficult title problems have earned her the respect and loyalty of countless clients.
Susan B Shannon has extensive experience as a real estate title examiner. She has a thorough knowledge of the underwriting practices and guidelines of several national real estate title insurance companies. She has been licensed in Virginia for over fifteen years, and was formerly licensed in Maryland and New Mexico. Susan joined TSG in 2008 and as the Title Department Manager, she is responsible for research, production and distribution of title insurance commitments and policies supporting five TSG settlement offices. The title department staff examines, investigates and resolves all property transfers for unsatisfied liens, and potential problems in areas such as divorce, probate, foreclosure, survey and bankruptcy. The department staff works with TSG managers, processors and attorneys to resolve possible title issues so that a clear title policy can be issued to buyers and lenders.
